Have you ever had a crush on a family member? This feeling I have right now is what I imagine it would feel like. The want is so strong, but the mind says...

Kinja'd!!!

I keep seeing geriatrics in new Caddys...and they look as out of place as Hindus in the Vatican would look. It's just a weird incongruous look...

I'm glad I don't hang out in places where you guys do. I am old, but the Caddy enthusiasts I hang out with average 26yrs old, most of the cars are CTS-Vs, with a sprinkling of XLR-Vs for good measure, and the average horsepower is over 600RWHP. Two of my group have 1000RWHP+ - yes, that's a Caddie! We had 28 cars at the Texas Mile back in October and one of our group ran 199.6MPH in the standing mile (we should have two guys break 200MPH in April). The CTS-V guys are also drag racers - numerous 10sec cars and a few 9 sec 1/4 mile daily drivers, sedans even! The guy who tunes my car has 1160RWHP and a car seat in the back of his sedan.

O.K. I'll concede that there are a lot of older people living "La Vita Loca" in their land yachts, but don't knock it till you've tried it. I'll take a 1000 mile trip in and old, big Caddy over say a WRX or a Camry any day. Its like comparing your comfy Barcalounger recliner next to a soothing fireplace vs a too-short stump at a campfire. I actually feel like doing something as soon as I arrive at my destination, as opposed to needing to recuperate for a day from the aches and strains.

And let's not even get into the "Buy American" bandwagon. Sure GM went through some hard times. They weren't appealing to the younger crowd there for a while, but Cadillac is back! With the introduction of the CTS, ATS, and ELR - the styling handling and power are on par or better than the competition. The problem is overcoming the stigma of the past and rebranding. Their doing a lot to achieve these goals, its just gonna take time.
